What is Mesothelioma ?
Mesothelioma is an asbestos-related cancer that affects membrane lining of the lungs and abdomen. There are three major types of mesothelioma . Pleural mesothelioma , affecting the lung’s protective lining in the chest cavity is 75 % of all mesothelioma incidence. Peritoneal mesothelioma, affecting the abdominal cavity, and pericardial mesothelioma, which affects the cardiac cavity represent the 25 % . An estimated 3,000 cases of mesothelioma are diagnosed annually in the US .
